Abstract. Suhartono S, Mahdani W, Hayati Z, Nurhalimah N. 2021. Species distribution of Enterobacteriaceae and non-Enterobacteriaceae responsible for urinary tract infections at the Zainoel Abidin Hospital in Banda Aceh, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 22: 3313-3318. Urinary infection (UTI) is an that occurs along caused by pathogenic bacteria. are generally normal flora originating from large intestine vaginal mucosa. This study aimed to assess non -Enterobacteriaceae pathogens cause UTI based on species diversity, patient age, gender, hospital units, evaluate their antibiotic sensitivity uropathogens ZAH. In total, there were 284 isolates classified as with 178 dominated Escherichia coli 107 non- isolates. Non- consisted 77 Gram-positive Enterococcus faecalis facium, 29 Gram-negative Acinetobacter baumannii. The highest ratio was found elderly (56-65 years), namely 66.2% 33.8% Based females infected (66.86%) (37.41%). Most patients internal medicine unit (55.36%) (44.64%). Amikacin, meropenem, levofloxacin antibiotics had high against Enterobacterial non-Enterobacterial uropathogens. emergence need be concerned these groups start emerging. It also important monitor regularly susceptibility bacterial ensure efficacy current treatments minimize incidence nosocomial settings.

Fosfomycin Susceptibility in Urinary Tract Enterobacteriaceae.

Introduction Antibiotic treatment of Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) is becoming increasingly difficult due to emergence of multi-drug resistant (ESBLs, AmpC, CRE) uropathogens. Fosfomycin is an old antibiotic that has evoked renewed interest with unique properties of not sharing any structural similarity and lack of cross-resistance with other antimicrobial agents. Our aim is to evaluate in-vit...

Susceptibility to β-lactams and quinolones of Enterobacteriaceae isolated from urinary tract infections in outpatients

The antibiotic susceptibility profile was evaluated in 71 Enterobacteriaceae isolates obtained from outpatient urine cultures in July 2010 from two health institutions in Santa Fe, Argentina. The highest rates of antibiotic resistance were observed for ampicillin (AMP) (69%), trimethoprim/sulfamethoxazole (TMS) (33%), and ciprofloxacin (CIP) (25%). Meanwhile, 21% of the isolates were resistant ...

Resistance pattern of enterobacteriaceae isolates from urinary tract infections to selected quinolones in Yaoundé

INTRODUCTION It is estimated that 150 million urinary tract infections (UTIs) occur yearly worldwide, resulting in more than 6 billion dollar in direct healthcare cost. The etiology of UTIs is predictable, with Escherichia coli, an Enterobacteriaceae being the principal pathogen. Quinolones are usually the drug of choice. In this study, we report the resistance pattern of Enterobacteriaceae iso...

Extended-spectrum β-lactamase-producing enterobacteriaceae in community-acquired urinary tract infections in São Luís, Brazil

The number of ESBL-producing Enterobacteriaceae in community-acquired urinary tract infections worldwide is probably underestimated because of the technical difficulties encountered with their detection. In this study, out of 5,672 urine samples analyzed, 916 were positive for uropathogens, 472 of them being enterobacteria of which 7.6% produced β-lactamases. Analysis of the isolated from 36 pa...
